The film won't be released until next month, but had a surprise screening at CinemaCon in August. Following the screening, film critic Scott Menzel wrote on Twitter that the film is "the Ghostbusters sequel that I've been waiting all my life to see." Managing Director for CinemaBlend Sean O'Connell added that the film is a "solid continuation of the original two films" and celebrated the film's "nostalgia for the original," as well as "a strong turn by McKenna Grace as Egon's granddaughter."

More recently, Sony shared two new Ghostbusters: Afterlife posters ahead of the film's release. The first poster showed members of the cast, including Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd, standing around the updated Ecto-1. The second poster depicted a similar setup but is from the perspective of someone standing behind the vehicle. Neither poster featured a specific release date for the film.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife stars newcomers Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd and Mckenna Grace. The film will debut exclusively in theaters on Nov. 19.
