Jason Reitman, director of the upcoming third Ghostbusters movie, says the original film's cast has read his script.Reitman was at Ghostbusters Fan Fest in Los Angeles when he announced Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Bill Murray have all "read the screenplay." His comments were picked up by the official Ghostbusters Twitter.RELATED: Ghostbusters: Sigourney Weaver Will Return for 2020 Film

This is consistent with Weaver's revelation she will return as Dana Barrett, Peter Venkman's love interest, and reunite with Murray and Aykroyd. Nothing further was divulged on her end and the studio, Sony, declined to comment.

News broke in January the film was being made and that Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman, would write and direct. Not much is known about the plot but the movie will take place after the original two films and reportedly focus on the next generation of recruits -- two teenage boys and girls -- for the titular team. Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon will be new additions to the film.
