While a new Ghostbusters revival prepares to begin principal photography this summer, the first two classic films in the franchise are about to being remastered in 4K Ultra HD.
Sony has unveiled the special features for the home video release of the two supernatural comedies featuring a whole plethora of previously unreleased extras and rare deleted scenes from the original 1984 film, including the Fort Detmerring scenes many fans have been demanding for decades.
The first film will come with six deleted scenes, raw outtakes from the in-film commercial and a cut Central Park sequence from the film, a 12-minute promotional clip featuring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd pitching the film to theater exhibitors and the full commercial for the Ghostbusters' services viewed by Sigourney Weaver's character in the film.
The 1989 sequel will include an appearance of the cast of Ghostbusters II on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1989 to promote the film, an unfinished teaser trailer for the film that includes a full, previously unseen commercial and audio commentary with director Ivan Reitman and star/co-writer Dan Aykroyd.
The 4K Ultra HD home video releases of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II will be released on June 11.
