As a love letter to other PlayStation-exclusive games, Ghost of Tsushima is adding in four new outfits, which will only be available until January 15. The outfit are inspired by the games God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Horizon Zero Dawn and Bloodborne. These are only available in the game's multiplayer mode, Legends, and cannot be worn by the base game's protagonist, Jin Sakai.

While the outfits don’t provide any sort of buffs to your online characters, they still look amazing and act as great crossovers for some of PlayStation's most iconic characters. Each corresponds to one of the four playable classes in Legends, and they can be unlocked by completing at least one story or survival mission for each class.

The Hunter class gets the Nora Brave outfit, worn by Horizon Zero Dawn's protagonist, Aloy. It even comes with a Focus on the right ear, though this is purely cosmetic and can't actually be used. This outfit makes a lot of sense with the class, given Aloy's main weapon is the bow and arrow. The Samurai class gives players the Spartan Mask, the Helm of War and the Ghost of Sparta Armor. The set comes with the familiar colors of white with red stripes, letting players feel like the unstoppable god of war, Kratos.

The outfit for the Assassin class consists of armor and a mask that makes players look like one of the towering Colossi. It's similar to the outfit worn by Wander, Shadow of the Colossus' player character. Finally, the Ronin class gives players the Yharnam set, named after the city where Bloodborne takes place. The armor is similar to that of Eileen the Crow's Crowfeather Set, complete with a unique animation of feathers always falling from the armor, creating an almost otherworldly look.

Since the difficulty at which you complete the mission makes no difference in whether or not you unlock these special outfits, the easiest way to get them all if to complete the Severed Hearts Mission with each class on bronze. It also doesn't matter what rank you are, so if this is your first time trying out Legends, the first missions you beat with each class will immediately unlock the outfits.

In addition to the outfits, the update also introduces a new feature to Legends: matchmaking for raids and nightmare missions that lets you customize who you want in your party. This can be done by selecting a challenge and clicking the "Fill Party" option at the bottom. Here, you can further specify your party, such as the overall goal of the mission, whether or not you want mics, and who is in control of the party settings. The game will connect you with players who share the same settings.

This is the latest move from Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch Productions to receive praise from fans. Legends itself, which released in October, has been called a good example of consumer-friendly DLC. The multiplayer expansion draws on supernatural places, characters and horrors from Japanese folklore and mythology. The game has also received other quality of life updates, all of which have come at no additional cost to players.
