The following contains major spoilers for Ghost Rider #6, available now from Marvel Comics.

Wolverine gains an infernal new addition to his powers thanks to the Spirit of Vengeance in Marvel's Ghost Rider #6.

Ghost Rider #6, by writer Benjamin Percy (Green Arrow, X-Force) and artist Brent Peeples (New Super-Man), finds Johnny Blaze and Logan in dire straits. After confronting the demon Blackheart at the end of the ghastly road known as Hell's Backbone, Johnny has discovered the truth behind the recent spate of horrors that plague him, while Logan is forced to operate in a gruesome fashion to exorcise Johnny's unwanted demons. When Logan's usual tactics prove incapable of doing the job, the Ghost Rider lends him a hand in the form of Hellfire.

The Ghost Rider is able to lend his Hellfire to Wolverine's claws, infusing them with the same infernal flames that scorch the souls of the damned. While Logan's adamantium claws were already more than capable of cutting through almost anything in the known Marvel Universe, the addition of Hellfire lends them the kind of power necessary to harm the kind of specters and demons who have made Johnny Blaze their temporary residence.

What is Hellfire?

Hellfire, also known as Soulfire, has been a mainstay of the Marvel Universe for as long as the legions of Hell itself. Primarily used by figures such as the Spirit of Vengeance, Hellfire can burn both hot and cold, yet it always brings immense pain to the soul of almost anyone who comes in contact with it. Apart from the Ghost Rider's iconic Hellfire Chain, it has also been used to imbue other weapons and even vehicles with demonic power.

In the Ghost Rider's latest journey, both his Hellfire and other abilities have largely been outside his control as they once were. After Johnny Blaze awakened in an otherwise idyllic suburb to a seemingly perfect life, he soon discovered it was all just a facsimile created by his enemies in the hopes of caging the Spirit of Vengeance. Even after fighting for his freedom, he has continued to be tormented by these dark forces, all while Johnny and the Ghost Rider have been left more disconnected than ever.

Ghost Rider #6 is written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Brent Peeples, colors by Bryan Valenza, design by Anthony Gambino and letters by VC's Travis Lanham.
