The following contains spoilers for Ghost Rider #12 from Marvel Comics.

Danny Ketch returns with a new costume and skull at the end of Marvel's Ghost Rider #12.

Ghost Rider #12 comes from writer Benjamin Percy, penciler Cory Smith, inker Oren Junior, colorist Bryan Valenza and letterer VC's Travis Lanham. In the issue, Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider and former F.B.I. agent Talia Warroad find themselves in Savannah, which is completely overrun by demons and other ghastly figures. Johnny manages to defeat the undead foes through the use of a fiery crucifix he gets from a gravestone; however, he also sees the vision of a mysteriously familiar figure and seemingly sinister in one demon's final moments.

Johnny and Talia take a trip to a nearby motel, and Talia casts a blood spell in order to further look into who this figure could be. Talia finds it to be Johnny's brother, Danny Ketch, but can also quickly deduce something is wrong with him. "I see Danny," she says. "I see his body anyway. But he's different now, Johnny. In a way...he might as well be dead." The final page of the issue reveals Danny to be wearing a new costume and Cyclops-like visor over his skull, making him appear more powerful than ever before.

What Is Happening to Danny Ketch in Marvel's Ghost Rider Series?

While further details as to Ketch's new form will be included in Ghost Rider #13 (releasing April 5, 2023 from Marvel), the fan-favorite character made a brief appearance in Ghost Rider #10. In the issue, he was seen being used as a test subject while hooked up to an elaborate contraption within a secret lab run by a scientist named Doctor Diyu. The lab is contracted to "provide security and logistical support" to the United States government and is littered with partially dissected monsters and demons.
