Following this morning's tease, Marvel has confirmed Ghost Rider will return to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." for the Season Four finale.

TVLine reports the ABC drama will close out the "Agent of Hydra" storyline, and the season, on May 16 with "World's End," in which Gabriel Luna will reprise his role as Robbie Reyes.

Marvel Comics' Spirit of Vengeance roared onto "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." at the beginning of the fourth season, leaving a mark with audiences before disappearing in December, ending that arc and clearing the way for the drama to eventually explore its current Framework. However, those two disparate storylines will intertwine as Phil Coulson & Co. attempt to stop Aida.

However, it was clear almost from the moment of Ghost Rider's exist that the character would return to the series, in one form or another. “There is a tradition within the comics that there’s been many Ghost Riders and our take on that was they’re not simultaneously a tribe of Ghost Riders but that it’s passed," executive producer Jeffrey Bell said in January. "The Spirit of Vengeance is passed from person to person. In that respect, at least our intention was that the Spirit of Vengeance was passed from one person to another, and who passed that on, there are suggestions within the storytelling… That’s as far as we’re going to take that part.”

Airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Agent Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and John Hannah as Holden Radcliffe.
