'Get Smurfy' Adds Demi Lovato and Rainn Wilson

Demi Lovato and Rainn Wilson have joined Mandy Patinkin in the voice cast of "Get Smurfy," Sony's fully animated reboot of its "Smurfs" franchise.

Announced over the weekend in a video released for Global Smurfs Day, Lovato will voice Smurfette while Wilson will play the wizard Gargamel. Patinkin's casting as Papa Smurf was first reported in January.

Kelly Asbury ("Shrek 2," "Gnomeo & Juliet") is directing the film, which will be the first fully animated entry in the Sony franchise. "The Smurfs" and "Smurfs 2," which blended live-action and CG animation, together grossed more than $900 million worldwide.

"Get Smurfy" arrives March 31, 2017.
