The popularity of developer miHoYo's Genshin Impact continues to grow exponentially -- so much so that it needs two Discord servers to support its ever-expanding community of gamers and fans.On July 28, the official Genshin Impact Twitter account announced the opening of the game's second Discord server, called the Genshin Impact Tavern. This was the result of the Genshin Impact fan base capping out the original server's capacity -- a feat that some were not aware was even possible.RELATED: Everything You Need To Know About PlayStation and Discord's Collaboration

Originally released Sept. 28, 2020, Genshin Impact is an open-world action role-playing game (RPG) that features both single-player and multiplayer modes. It quickly grabbed the attention of gamers with its heavy focus on character design and was downloaded 23 million times within a week of its release. It became the fastest game to reach a gross of over $1 billion on Google Play and the App Store, achieving that milestone by the end of March 2021. Alongside Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact is one of the highest grossing mobile games of all time.

Genshin Impact also received positive reviews from critics and was nominated for multiple awards at the 2020 Game Awards and the 2021 NAVGTR Awards.

The game remains as popular as ever. The Genshin Impact Tavern already hosts over 127,000 members at the time of writing. This is particularly impressive considering only a year ago Discord enabled server owners and their moderator teams to request their servers be expanded past 100 thousand and 250 thousand members in order to help popular Discord communities to grow.

Genshin Impact is available to play on Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 and 5.
