As Genshin Impact players rise through the Adventure Ranks, many find themselves looking back and wishing that they knew about certain in-game aspects that would have made earlier gameplay much easier for them. As players delve into the world of Teyvat, they quickly recognize that many of the game's inner systems and mechanics are not as thoroughly explained as the basics, such as controls or combat.

Adventure Rank 45 is considered a turning point because Teyvat truly opens up to players upon reaching this major in-game milestone. Before AR45, there are numerous pieces of information that players should keep in mind.

10 Remember To Use The Daily HoYoLAB Check-In

HoYoLABS' Daily Genshin Impact Check-In. Day one has been completed.

There is a daily check-in feature on miHoYo's official community site, HoYoLAB. By checking in on this site every day, players receive useful in-game rewards, such as Adventure's Experience, Primogems, enhancement ore, Mora, and foods.

The check-in provides players with a convenient way to get character and weapon level-up materials, as well as Primogems, which can be used to wish on banners. Players should utilize this helpful feature to save time and energy that would otherwise be spent grinding for these materials in the game.

9 Never Cap Original Resin

Large blue dragon flying in the sky; Stormterror, or Dvalin, from Genshin Impact.

Original resin is an energy resource material that allows players to collect rewards from boss fights, Ley Line deposits, and domains. Original resin should never reach its' maximum capacity. On average, it takes approximately eight minutes for one unit of original resin to regenerate for each player.

Keeping this in mind, dedicated players should always keep a steady flow of original resin to allow for quicker progression through the game. Original resin is essential when players reach Genshin Impact's endgame because it allows for endless gameplay, despite having completed all of the story and world quests.

8 Pay Attention To The Storyline

Paimon and Kaeya look at the Jade Chamber, noting how high up it is and wondering how to even enter the building.

Though it is convenient to speed run through each of the Archon and story quests in Genshin Impact to accumulate primogems quicker, understanding the game's story makes players appreciate the world of Teyv at— and by extension, each of their favorite characters' roles in this world as well.

Despite much of the dialogue being quite drawn-out and full of sporadic anecdotes from the Traveler's companion, Paimon, it is helpful to pay attention to the game's story. More often than not, many of these long, drawn-out dialogues include important foreshadowing for what is bound to occur in the game later on.

7 Gather Every Single Thing You Can Find

As players explore the world of Teyvat, they come across many flora and creatures along their journey. These things are pretty helpful, whether they are ingredients for recipes or stray artifacts found in random sparkling crates along street sides. Players will find it beneficial later on to collect absolutely everything they see.

Berries and herbs, such as Juyuen Chilis or Small Lamp Grasses, are both ingredients for foods and character ascension materials. Creatures, such as butterflies or lizards, can be used for potions that provide useful boosts in battle. Even cutting down trees will prove helpful later in the game because players can craft furniture for their Serenitea Pots.

6 Conserve Fragile Resin

Fragile resin is a valuable material that becomes harder to come by as players progress through the game. Fragile resin restores original resin by 60 points. Players can only exchange 20 units of Fragile resin at a time.

This valuable resource should be saved for when players want to maximize their character's levels, talents, and artifacts to succeed in the Spiral Abyss. Lower rank players should simply allow their Fragile resin counts to build up over time and only use it in small increments when it is necessary.

5 Focus On Stats When Building Characters

Tartaglia, also known as Childe.

Basic stats such as attack, defense, and elemental mastery are essential. They calculate the amount of damage dealt by a character, the character's protection from incoming damage, and how powerful the elemental reactions caused by that character are. However, advanced statistics such as CRIT rate and CRIT DMG, cooldown reduction, and energy recharge are essential to success in Genshin Impact.

These attributes are all increased through artifacts, leveling up talents, and passive weapon statistics. These attributes also increase through gaining character constellations and ascending characters.

4 Understanding Team Roles

Xiangling, Chongyun, Xingqiu, and Bennett; otherwise known as "The National Team"

Players cite building teams using their favorite characters as a key part of Genshin Impact. However, it is important to understand the roles of any four characters in a team. Teams generally consist of the main DPS, a sub DPS, a support/healer, and another sub DPS character who has a shield.

It is also worth keeping in mind that elemental resonance is important when constructing a team. For example, any four unique elements in a team means a "Protective Canopy," providing the team with 15% boosted physical and elemental resistance. Suppose two of the same elements are in a party, such as two electro characters. In that case, it provides the team with Hydro resistance and elemental particle generation from elemental reactions such as Overloaded or Electro-Charged. Such factors should be kept in mind when building powerful teams in the game.

3 Build The Traveler

Genshin Impact Traveler Twins

Many of the characters obtained through Genshin Impact's wish system are alluring enough to make players permanently bench the Traveler they chose at the beginning of the game. However, the Traveler's ability to manipulate elemental powers despite lacking a vision will prove important to certain battles in the game.

There is no doubt that players will be forced to use the Traveler again during certain parts of the story, such as the prelude to entering Inazuma during The Crux Clash. During the battle against Raiden Shogun, the Vision Hunt Decree is momentarily enacted, barring all elemental powers — except for that of the Traveler's. Building your Traveler will prove to be a worthwhile, valuable investment of time and resources in Genshin Impact.

2 Avoid Spending Primogems On The Standard Banner

Genshin Impact's Standard Banner, Wanderlust Invocation, featuring Qiqi, Mona, Keqing, and Skyward Spine.

Acquaint fates are used to wish on the game's standard banner. However, primogems should not be spent on that banner. There are many ways to obtain Acquaint fates throughout the game, such as character ascension, increases in Adventure Rank, and leveling up the Frostbearing and Sacred Sakura trees. These fates are easily obtained in-game, so there is really no reason to spend hard-earned primogems on them.

Furthermore, the characters featured on the banner are available at any time, even on the limited-time event banners. Rather than spending primogems on the standard banner, players should rather spend them on Intertwined Fates, which are used for the limited-time event character and weapon banners.

1 The Artifact System

Artifact choices for Genshin Impact's Lumine.

When players reach Adventure Rank 45, the drop rate for the best five-star artifacts is significantly increased. Before AR45, players should not focus on farming for artifacts. However, understanding the artifact system is important. Players should pay close attention to artifact statistics upon obtaining them. Some artifacts boost defense, others healing, and some boost CRIT DMG or CRIT rate. Some artifacts will also provide higher elemental DMG for specific Visions.

Additionally, players should not waste Mora on leveling up one, two, and three-star artifacts. Those can be used as resources for leveling up four and five-star artifacts. A full artifact set also does not matter as much as the statistics. Mixing and matching artifact sets can prove effective.
