Our national crisis is over: Gary Busey has booked his next movie, Piranha 3DD. If there's ever been a more perfect pairing of an actor and a production, I can't think of it.
Last year's summer gorefest Piranha 3D delivered a blood-soaked throwback to a time when over-the-top violence didn't have to go hand-in-hand with "torture porn." Killer fish eat dozens in a tropical paradise. What more could you ask for?
The sequel's setting will be a water park, where havoc ensues after the killer fish find their way into the water pipes. There's no word on which character he'll play, but hopefully he'll be piranha fodder. I imagine that a Busey-fueled killer-fish death scene would be a thing of epic proportions.
A number of others joined the cast recently as well, including Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Matt Bush, Clu Gulager, Hector Jimenez, Paul James Jordan, David Koechner, Adrian Martinez, Danielle Panabaker, Meagan Tandy and Chris Zylka. I imagine all will end up as little more than a gooey spot on the floor by the time the credits roll.
Piranha 3DD is coming to theaters on Nov. 23.
