NECA's lineup of Ultimate action figures based on the hit Disney cartoon Gargoyles expands with the upcoming release of Angela.

According to Big Bad Toy Store, Disney's Gargoyles Ultimate Angela Action Figure will be released in May for a retail price of $47.99, though it's currently discounted to $41.99 for pre-orders. The official product description reads, "Angela, daughter of Goliath and Demona, joins the Ultimate line with a baby version of herself." As Gargoyle fans know, Angela made her first appearance on the 1994 cartoon during the three-part episode "Avalon" and became the first female gargoyle member of the Manhattan Clan led by her father, Goliath.

NECA states the Angela action figure is seven inches (or 17.78 centimeters) in scale and made of plastic. Additionally, the figure is "highly articulated" and comes with a window box packaging. Contents of the box include the Angela figure, two head sculpts, three pairs of hands, wings, an egg, and a baby Angela. The Goliath and Demona figures, however, are sold separately.

More Gargoyles Figures From NECA

Elisa Maza, a police detective and complicated love interest to Goliath, will have her figure released in July. Other Gargoyle figures from NECA include the Steel Clan, Coldstone, and Hudson.

Gargoyles ran on the Disney Channel for three seasons from October 1994 to February 1997. Greg Weisman is credited as the creator of the Gargoyles, though many writers and artists were influential in the development of the series. One of these creators is the late Michael Reaves, who was the main writer/story editor for the show's first and second seasons.

Why Gargoyles Was So Highly Praised

During its airing, Gargoyles was praised for its complex storylines, intense action, rewarding continuity, and grittiness on par with Batman: The Animated Series. All of these were far from the norm in children's animation during the 1990s, setting Gargoyles apart from the typical Disney cartoon. Each of Gargoyles' three seasons is currently available to stream on Disney+.

A new line of Gargoyles comic books from Dynamite Entertainment picks up where the animated series left off, written by Weisman himself. Gargoyles #4 by Dynamite Entertainment is now on sale in physical and digital formats.
