The latest Netflix original film has Legion star Dan Stevens infiltrate a murderous cult in order to save his sister.

Apostle, written and directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid, The Raid 2), the upcoming film has Thomas Richardson (Stevens) return home to 1905 London only to discover his young sister (Lucy Boynton) has been kidnapped by a cult demanding a ransom for her return.  The streaming service has released the first trailer for thriller a month ahead of its wide release.

As Thomas infiltrates the occult organization on their remote island sanctuary, he finds a community under the thrall of a mysteriously charismatic leader (Michael Sheen) and a sinister secret at the heart of the bloody cult.

Netflix had picked up the distribution rights to Evans' film in March 2017 ahead of the start of principal photography. The thriller is expected to premiere at Fantastic Fest this weekend in Austin.

Written and directed by Gareth Evans, Apostle stars Dan Stevens, Lucy Boynton, Mark Lewis Jones, Bill Milner, Kristine Froseth, Paul Higgins, and Michael Sheen. It is scheduled to be released on Netflix on October 12.
