Created in 1985 by Topps, Garbage Pail Kids was a parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids, which twisted the latter's wholesome image into over-the-top gross-out humor. Consumers could buy a pack of Garbage Pail Kids with a character on the front, usually featuring a comical pose. The franchise spun off into books, a live-action movie and a previous animated series. The 35th anniversary of Garbage Pail Kids lead to a new line of trading cards.

A new Garbage Pail Kids animated series is the latest show in the works at HBO Max. New animated series' starring Batman from Matt Reeves, Bruce Timm and J.J. Abrams, along with My Adventures With Superman have officially been announced.
