It looks like Gamora is getting a refresh on her look for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, going for similar golden eyeshadow accents to the ones her Marvel Comics counterpart has in a behind-the-scenes image shared by actor Zoe Saldana.

In a post on Saldana's Instagram, the actor is seen sporting Gamora's familiar green skin with markings on her cheekbones and above her eyes, but there's a subtle twist: she has heavy golden eyeshadow applied as well. While Gamora has had hints of gold around her eyes in previous Guardians of the Galaxy films, it's never been this pronounced before. "Gamora felt cute! #nofilter," Saldana captioned the photo, along with a pair of laughing emojis.

Saldana has posted a few different looks at her Gamora make-up recently, but this is the first highlighting the new eye accents. While it's just a behind-the-scenes shot clearly before any sort of post-production has been done, that much golden eyeshadow does seem to indicate that the next time audiences see Gamora she may be more in line with her appearance in the comics.

While the original Gamora was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, she was replaced in Avengers: Endgame by her past self thanks to the time-traveling that takes place in the film. This Gamora is last seen walking away alone after Thanos' final defeat as she has no knowledge of her future self's time spent with the Guardians or her connection to Star-Lord/Peter Quill.

The third GotG film will feature the other Guardians attempting to find this time-displaced Gamora. Details on the full plot of the final installment still remain slim, though one returning cast member has also shared a look at his costume. Sylvester Stallone will be back as Stakar Ogord, the role based on Starhawk that he first appeared as in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017.

As for new casting, Will Poulter's Adam Warlock is already getting praise from director James Gunn. "He's the best. He's killing it," said Gunn in a recent interview. "People are going to really love Adam -- or love? They're going to appreciate Adam Warlock, I'll say." Gunn has also talked up Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji, confirming he also has a major role. "[P]eople are freaking out over how good this guy is," the director gushed. "Literally freaking out. I think that I'm really happy."

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is currently set for a May 5, 2023 release.
