Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne Comes Alive in Season 8 Poster

In just a little over three weeks, the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will begin. A new poster released in anticipation of the upcoming premiere appears to show the melted swords that comprise the Iron Throne -- until you take a closer look. The spikes actually radiate out from the scaly head of a dragon, whose mystical yellow eyes watch from the bottom of the poster.

Though promotional material for Game of Thrones generally doesn't yield new clues, the new poster does seem to hint at the inevitable clash between the Daenerys' dragons and the forces of the Iron Throne in King's Landing.

The show passed the plot of George R. R. Martin's novels some time ago, so now it's anyone's guess how the show will end. Even Martin himself doesn't know what D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have in store.
