'Game of Thrones' Star Maisie Williams Heads to 'Doctor Who'

"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams will have a guest role in an upcoming episode of "Doctor Who," the BBC announced this morning.

“I'm so excited to be working on 'Doctor Who' as it’s such a big and important part of British culture," the 17-year-old actress said in a statement. "I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”

Although no details have been revealed about her role, Executive Producer Steven Moffat teased that Williams "is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways.

"This time he might just be out of his depth," he said, "and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”

Williams returns as Arya Stark in the fifth season of HBO's "Game of Thrones," which premieres Sunday, April 12. "Doctor Who" begins its new season this fall.
