Following on the news that Warner Bros.' entire 2021 movie slate will debut simultaneously on HBO Max along with movie theaters, the company has released new concept art for House of the Dragon, a spinoff of HBO's hit series, Game of Thrones.

Principal photography on House of the Dragon is scheduled to begin in the next few months. However, fans of the Game of Thrones franchise can get a look at two of the dragons that will be featured in the spinoff. The first dragon photo displays the full body of the creature, which has shades of light red and white on its body. As for the second dragon photo, we get a close-up of its face and head, with its mouth open in a menacing growl.

The Outsider's star Paddy Considine joined the Game of Thrones spinoff as an ancestor of Daenerys Targaryen. HBO President Casey Bloys confirmed House of the Dragon is still scheduled to premiere in 2022.

HBO placed a series order for House of the Dragon in October 2019. The series will tell the story of House Targaryen and take place 300 years before the original series. House of the Dragon will be based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, a compilation of stories and historical records related to House Targaryen.

Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal, House of the Dragon stars Paddy Considine. It is expected to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in 2022.
