The third season of Game of Thrones is little over a month away, and HBO has debuted a gorgeous full-length trailer to tease the fantasy series' return. Everyone from Robb Stark to Daenerys Targaryen gets their time in the spotlight here, but the real scene-stealer is Daenerys' much larger dragon.
The trailer opens with a look at a scarred Tyrion Lannister, and then switches to a shot of wildlings climbing the Wall. A woman warns, "Death is coming for everyone and everything," as Catelyn and Robb Stark gaze on at dead peasants in a town, and Beric Dondarrion can be seen wielding a sword as flames explode before him.
If you haven't read George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, then these scenes won't mean much to you. What they should let you in on is the fact that Game of Thrones will be more expansive than ever this year, with many new characters being introduced in the coming season.
One of the best scenes is when Daenerys can be seen in front of her army of Unsullied, while Mance Rayder can be seen saying, "I am going to light the biggest fire they have ever seen." But, as we said above, it is Daenerys' dragon swooping in towards an unsuspecting ship that serves to give us chills every time we see it. Seriously, can it be March 31 already?
