Spoiler alert: Do not continue reading the following Game of Thrones story if you haven’t seen Sundays episode. Seriously, major spoilers ahead. You proceed at your own risk.
How does one come down from the horror and brutality of the Red Wedding? The latest episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones was so traumatic, so shocking in its unforgiving bloodletting that countless memes have already surfaced to chronicle the reactions to the three pivotal deaths in Season 3’s penultimate episode.
If you’re still wondering how Game of Thrones can ever repair the winter-shaped hole in your heart created by the death of the North, well, here’s a start: Zap2It reports that Thrones co-showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have written an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, hitting the new comedy-driven FXX network later this year for its ninth season.
Exactly what Benioff and Weiss’ episode entails remains unclear, but we can only hope that we see our favorite Philadelphians getting their Thrones on. Dee would fancy herself a Daenerys Targaryen, but would actually be the alcoholic rage-monster Cersei. Dennis would be her incestuous lover Jaime and he’d be totally cool with it. Mac and Charlie could battle it out over who gets to play Robb Stark, only to both reneg ewhen they find out the horrible fate that awaits the King of the North. As for Frank, well … that’s kinda obvious.
The ninth season premiere of Always Sunny does not yet have a concrete air date.
