The return of Game of Thrones has reignited the passion of millions of fans around the world, who continue to celebrate the eighth and final season in a variety of ways. The next few episodes will conclude the series and reveal how the forces of Westeros fare against the Night King and his army of white walkers and undead wights.

But while the Seven Kingdoms raise banners, sharpen blades, muster soldiers and ready their dragons, it seems the threat of the Night King has already been dealt with by a small force of Norwegian authorities.

Several photos showing the Night King's arrest was posted to social media by authorities in Trondheim, Norway. The images include the Night King's mugshots, a photo of him being led away in handcuffs and an image of him dressed in an orange jumpsuit, sitting in the corner of his cell. The collection of images were accompanied by a caption reading, "The police have received many complaints about a man from the northern region involved in criminal activity. Complaints include animal cruelty and property damage (there have been reports of a wall being destroyed), as well as threats to lay vast areas of land desolate. Our night watch [sic] has now apprehended the man to deter any further criminal activity on his behalf."

The post has received thousands of likes and comments on Facebook from enthusiastic Game of Thrones fans worldwide, celebrating the end of this long winter and the defeat of the Night King. Of course, fans will still be tuning in every Sunday to see how Westeros handles the destructive force of the Night King.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO, Game of Thrones stars Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark, Maisie Williams as Arya Stark and Kit Harington as Jon Snow.
