Game of Thrones: Night King Looms in Season 7 Teaser Art

Starks and dragons and White Walkers, oh my! On Twitter, HBO reminded fans that the penultimate season of their acclaimed series Game of Thrones is almost here by releasing a teaser image featuring a frightening but familiar face.

The promo provides a close-up look at the Night King, the White Walker head honcho himself, who was primarily a shadowy spectator during the show's first six seasons. That seems likely to change very soon, since Winter is no longer coming: it's upon us.

Game of Thrones' seventh season debuts on HBO on July 16, but will feature a shortened episode order in comparison to previous seasons. The penultimate season will consist of seven episodes, with the final season slated for six overall. The series was adapted for television by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The seventh season is slated to star Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, Lena Headey as Cersei Lannister, Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, Kit Harington as Jon Snow and more.
