One of the most popular aspects of Game of Thrones has always been the sheer savagery of the HBO series. Sure, fans loved soaking in the politics as heroes became villains and vice versa, all to see who'd rule Westeros, but ultimately it was this need for flesh and blood, the most basic instinct across all the kingdoms, that had people thirsty for violence. With that in mind, as all the Houses went to war, let's rank the most satisfying deaths in the show.

8. Lysa Arryn Gets Tossed Out the Moon Door

Lysa Arryn Game of Thrones

Lysa Arryn had a major role to play in starting the war between the Lannisters and House Stark, being used by Petyr Baelish, aka Littlefinger. She poisoned her husband, Jon, on Littlefinger's behalf, which led to so many heroes being killed as Cersei plotted with Jaime. It came to a head when Littlefinger sent Sansa to Lysa, only to betray Lysa and toss her out the Moon Door, hundreds of feet to her death. It was all to get Sansa on his side as her mom, Catelyn, was gone. Lysa deserved it, though, as she sought power herself, willing to kill her own kin in the name of love.

7. Arya Stark Gives Littlefinger What He Deserves

Eventually, Sansa sees through Littlefinger's ruse as she takes back the North. At Winterfell, while he felt he had her and her siblings ready to break the Lannister hold and give him and Sansa the throne, Bran used his Three-Eyed Raven's vision to see Littlefinger's sinister plotting. It ended with Arya slitting his treasonous throat at a tribunal as Sansa chided him for placing her in servitude and starting the game. He caused so much bloodshed, with all their family dead due to him manipulating Lysa. Fans waited on it for a while, as it unshackled the Stark kids at last.

6. Arya Gets Revenge on Walder Frey for the Red Wedding

Arya Stark kills Walder Frey in Game of Thrones.

Walder was responsible for the Red Wedding, some of which Arya witnessed. Her brother, Robb, was killed, as well as her mom and many family members. With the bannermen gone, the Lannisters had Walder and Roose Bolton take the North, but Arya honed her trade as a shape-shifter and came back to slit Walder's throat. She fed him his own family in a pie too, making her revenge that much sweeter while poisoning his army. Fans lapped this up as Arya made it clear the heroes in the North remembered and would triumph again after the injustice.

5. Khal Drogo Gives Viserys Targaryen a Deadly Crown

Drogo kills Viserys with molten gold in Game of Thrones

Viserys used Daenerys as a pawn in Season 1 of Game of Thrones, gifting her to Khal Drogo so the Dothraki would become his personal army. He wanted to take the throne his family left behind but he grew petulant and abusive to his sister. It resulted in Drogo honoring his queen by melting his gold down and pouring it on Viserys' head. It was cathartic as he was obsessed with his crown, and now he had one as he died. Dany as Khaleesi soaked it in, knowing he was just as much of a monster as those who eliminated her family members over the years.

4. Tyrion Kills Tywin Lannister on the Toilet

Tywin was one of the show's nastiest villains, using Cersei and Jaime to do his dirty work as he really ran the realm when the throne got free after Robert Baratheon's death. Sadly, as assassinations occurred, Tywin let Tyrion stew in prison, only for the son to sneak out and plant a couple arrows in his dad. It was funny as Tywin was on the toilet, but perfect karma as Tywin hated Tyrion for being a dwarf, even using Tyrion's beloved Shae to trick his son. Many enjoyed this moment as there wasn't anyone as corrupt and vindictive as Tywin, and what made it better is this helped Tyrion be more heroic.

3. Olenna Tyrell Poisons King Joffrey at His Wedding

Joffrey was placed on the throne after the death of his "father," as Tywin's puppet of course, but he got out of hand. He was rude, risked war and belittled the court, with Olenna Tyrell eventually poisoning his wine. She wanted her granddaughter, Margaery, to be free from such a tyrannical husband, while weakening the Lannister hold. Viewers loved it as Joffrey was toxic, had rapist tendencies and enjoyed murdering innocents for sport, so seeing his face turn purple as he bled out was quite a welcoming sight, especially as it hurt Cersei.

2. Cersei Gets Crushed With Jamie Lannister

Jaime turned face as the show went on but he still went back to Cersei as King's Landing was razed by a mad Dany and her dragon. He knew she was evil but he had to die with his twin, as they lost their kids and the dream they had to rule Westeros. The building collapsed, crushing them in the rubble, and while fans hoped for a better ending for Jaime, they rejoiced over Cersei's death as she murdered so many people without thinking twice -- especially the Starks. It felt like karma as her kingdom literally fell on her.

1. Ramsay Bolton Gets Devoured by Dogs After Losing Winterfell

Sansa And Ramsay On Their Wedding Night

Ultimately, Ramsay was the show's most despicable villain as he enjoyed sadistic games that had little to do with politics or the throne. From dismembering Theon to sexually assaulting Sansa on their wedding night, to killing little Rickon, he was just as deadly to the Starks, which is why when Jon Snow took Winterfell back, people waited for the death sentence with bated breath. It came when Sansa starved his dogs and let them eat Ramsay, which was quite fitting as he did the same to past victims. This empowered Sansa to rule and showed fans the Starks wouldn't lie down anymore after they lost so much blood to protect the realm.
