With news of a Jon Snow-centric Game of Thrones spinoff series emerging, some of the stars of the original HBO series have come out to express their excitement. Most recent was actor Maisie Williams, known for her performance as Arya Stark.

In a recent interview with People, Williams said, "Everything surrounding the story [of GOT] is very exciting... We had such a rich show, and there's still so much story to tell." With regard to the spinoff, the actor shared, "I think it's really exciting, and I think that Kit is such a phenomenal actor. Him playing Jon Snow was just like a cultural rese... I think everything that he touches is magic, and I'm excited to see what it's going to be."

Williams' comments follow former co-star Gwendoline Christie, who played Brienne of Tarth, who expressed similar enthusiasm about Harington's return to Westeros. She stated, "I love the sound of the Jon Snow spinoff. I really do. I loved watching [Game of Thrones] too. It's very surprising to feel this wave of interest that people are still so invested and that the love is still so real. I think many people feel that they would love to see that story continue."

While HBO itself has not yet provided audiences with further details, or even officially announced the project, the Jon Snow spinoff was seemingly confirmed by star Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen. "[Kit Harington] has told me about it. And I know it exists. It's happening." Furthermore, Clarke suggested Harington is even more involved in the spinoff than he was with Game of Thrones. "It's been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he's in it from the ground up. So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington," she said.

More information was provided by A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin. On top of further confirmation that the project was in development, the writer also provided its working title: "Our working title for the show is SNOW," he said on his blog. He went on to add, "I am involved, just as I am with [further spinoff series] THE HEDGE KNIGHT and THE SEA SNAKE and TEN THOUSAND SHIPS, and all the animated shows. Kit’s team have visited me here in Santa Fe and worked with me and my own team of brilliant, talented writer/ consultants to hammer out the show."

The Jon Snow sequel series starring Kit Harington does not yet have a release window. All seasons of Game of Thrones are available for streaming on HBO Max.
