Both Turner and Harington are nominated for Emmys -- Harington for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Turner for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. They join fellow Game of Thrones nominees Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Alfie Allen, Maisie Williams, Lena Heady and Gwendoline Christie. Despite polarizing reactions from fans of the show, the eight and final season of the fantasy drama also snagged a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.

Game of Thrones has seen much success at the Emmys in recent years. The series won Outstanding Drama Series in in 2015, 2016 and 2018, while Dinklage received Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2011, 2015 and 2018. Finally, the epic has received several writing and directing awards since it first premiered.

Game of Thrones' first seven seasons are currently available on DVD and Blu-ray. A release date for the final season has not been announced.
