For the past nine years, Kit Harington has portrayed Jon Snow on the acclaimed HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, observing that his work on the final season may be his proudest work on the show.

While starring on the series from 2011 to its upcoming eighth season, Harington would regularly watch previous episodes to study his performance and help inform how he carried himself in future episodes. However, what he saw of himself in his performances from the previous seven seasons had often left him disappointed.

"Looking back at the entirety of Thrones, there’ll be 70% of the scenes that I’ll just never be happy with. I’ve come to terms with that," Harington admitted in an interview with Variety before revealing the final season saw him embrace his own performance. "I know who this is now, and I’m at peace with who this is. I just got a feeling that it’s the most satisfied I will be with my work as Jon Snow.”

From the reputed illegitimate son of Ned Stark to the Commander of the Night's Watch to the King of Winterfell, Snow has had one of the most prolific character arcs on the dark fantasy series. And with Games of Thrones returning in less than a month, it will be interesting to see how Jon Snow's personal journey comes to an end.
