Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, who played Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO series, revealed she wants to play Deadpool.

"Well, I'd love to play Deadpool," Headey told Geek House Show via video chat. "Obvs. Anyway, that's been taken... by a man."

Ryan Reynolds has become synonymous with the role of Deadpool and will likely portray the character for a while yet. However, a female version of Deadpool, Wanda Wilson, does exist in the comics. It is certainly possible Headey could play this character, or another character from the Deadpool universe, in a future film.

Headey appeared in all eight seasons of Game of Thrones. She received several Emmy nominations, as well as a Golden Globe nomination, for the role. Her previous credits also include 300, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Reynolds has already starred as the Merc with a Mouth in two solo films, with a third on the way. Following Disney's merger with Fox, the next Deadpool film will be developed through Marvel Studios. Reynolds is still attached to star.
