The world-devouring Galactus is usually a foe of superheroes such as the Fantastic Four, the Silver Surfer or the other various cosmic entities of the Marvel Universe.

However, Galactus also made an unlikely appearance in director Adam McKay's Vice, a satirical look back at former Vice President Dick Cheney's rise to power and time in office.

As IGN noted, Galactus makes a cameo in an extended shot during a sequence narrated by Jesse Plemons' character as he recounts the story of Cheney, who's portrayed by former Batman actor Christian Bale.

Although this cameo doesn't suggest that Cheney will be calling the FF any time soon, it marks a noteworthy appearance of a Marvel character in a movie that has nothing to do with Marvel Studios or 20th Century Fox, who currently hold the cinematic rights to Galactus and the Fantasitc Four . Galactus' last appearance on the big screen was in 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer where the cosmic entity appeared as a cosmic world devouring cloud.

McKay is no stranger to Marvel characters, since he was brought in to assist with rewrites on the screenplay for 2015's Ant-Man after director Edgar Wright left the project. He also consulted with the writers on the screenplay for the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018. Recently, he revealed he was approached by Marvel Studios to possibly direct Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3. and that he would do anything to work on a Silver Surfer movie.

Written and directed by Adam McKay, Vice stars Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld, Sam Rockwell as George W. Bush, Alison Pill as Mary Cheney, Lily Rabe as Liz Cheney, Tyler Perry as Colin Powell and Jesse Plemons as Kurt, the narrator.
