Following the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3, Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios have removed star Gal Gadot's cameo from The Flash.

"The sunsetting of Cavill's time as Superman was the clearest indication yet that Gunn and Safran are mounting a substantial overhaul of DC, a reboot that will cut significant, if not most, ties to the previous regimes that handled DC movies for Warner Bros.," writes The Hollywood Reporter. "Cavill also shot a cameo in The Flash, one of four DC movies set to release in 2023, but sources say that cameo, along with that of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, is now being cut given that the studio chose to not go forward with director Patty Jenkins' version of Wonder Woman 3."

News of Gadot's redaction from The Flash comes just days after The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios had removed Henry Cavill's cameo as Superman from the film. That same report also delivered news that Wonder Woman 3 had been canceled. The outlet later reported that it was Jenkins who walked away from the project after refusing to take script notes. Jenkins later denied these claims, saying, "I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time."

The DCU's Massive Reshuffling

DC Studios may not be moving forward with a third Wonder Woman film, but the company's co-CEOs, James Gunn and Peter Safran, have been in touch with Jenkins since the project's termination. The director is not the only one from DC's past that the two executives have reached to out lately. Though Cavill and Batman's Ben Affleck have also been de-caped, Gunn and Safran have spoken with the former World's Finest performers about collaborating on something in the future. It is unknown whether Gunn and Safran have had similar talks with Gadot yet.

Aquaman's Jason Momoa is also expected to finish his run as the DCU's King of Atlantis after the release of 2023's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, though Gunn and Safran have yet to confirm whether such is true. As with Cavill and Affleck, however, Momoa's time in the DCU may not be over. In November, rumors circulated that Gunn was considering Momoa for the role of Lobo. Neither Gunn nor Momoa have confirmed these rumors, though Momoa has expressed interest in playing the part, saying, "that would be amazing if that happened."

Unlike her Justice League co-stars, Gadot has yet to comment on the changing state of the DCU, though the actor shared a post on Twitter celebrating the anniversary of her casting just days before the Wonder Woman 3's cancellation. "I've been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I'm grateful for YOU. The fans," she wrote. "Can't wait to share her next chapter with you."
