While there's little information available about Warner Bros. and DC Films' third Wonder Woman movie, franchise star Gal Gadot is already building up hype for the threequel.

To commemorate the fourth anniversary of 2017's Wonder Woman, Gadot shared a clip from the film and wrote, "Wonder Woman came out 4 years ago and changed my life..Thank you all so much for the love, I’m forever grateful for this amazing opportunity and I promise we will always do everything to keep and tell Wonder Woman’s story in the best way possible. Love and Peace!" She then footnoted the post with #WonderWoman3.

Wonder Woman 3 was announced by Warner Bros. on Dec. 27, 2020, just two days after Wonder Woman 1984 premiered in theaters and on HBO Max. "As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of Wonder Woman 1984, we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real-life Wonder Women -- Gal and Patty -- who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy," Warner Bros. Pictures Group Chairman Toby Emmerich said.

"Wonder Woman 1984 broke records and exceeded our expectations across all of our key viewing and subscriber metrics in its first 24 hours on the service, and the interest and momentum we're seeing indicates this will likely continue well beyond the weekend," WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer EVP Andy Forsell added. "During these very difficult times, it was nice to give families the option of enjoying this uplifting film at home, where theater viewing wasn’t an option."

Although Wonder Woman 1984 proved successful in its hybrid release, the film wasn't met with the same adoration from critics as its predecessor.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 3 stars Gal Gadot. The film has yet to receive a release date.
