Last week's Comic-Con International was a major showcase for director Patty Jenkins' upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie. Not only did the convention mark the debut of the film's first full trailer, but it also included the unveiling of Mattel's Wonder Woman-themed Barbie. Gal Gadot, who plays the eponymous heroine in the shared DC Comics film universe, took to Twitter to voice her approval for the new figure.

A Comic-Con exclusive, the highly-detailed Wonder Woman Barbie features the heroine's classic bracelets and unbreakable lasso, in addition to an intricately designed golden shield. The figure was sold at SDCC for $80 USD.

The "Wonder Woman" movie is an adaptation of the long-running DC Comics comic book series by the same name in which Diana Prince, an Amazonian warrior from the island of Themyscira, leaves relative comfort for the outside world, eventually becoming the super-heroine Wonder Woman. The movie adaptation is directed by Patty Jenkins, best known as the director of the 2003 biographical thriller "Monster."
