Unlike Henry Cavill's mustache in Justice League, jokes about the movie's noticeable CGI facial hair erasure aren't disappearing.
Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, tweeted a Boomerang video that's giving fans another opportunity to make fun of the obvious CGI that was used to cover Cavill's mustache during Justice League reshoots. It's very likely that her tweet was not intended to remind fans about the movie's attempt to cover the Man of Steel's mustache during Joss Whedon's reshoots. The tweet is very clearly in partnership with Revlon, and is presented as a fun nod to Charlie Chaplin. Watch the video below.
Henry himself has made multiple jokes about the obvious CGI -- the actor has definitely embraced it while remaining passionate about his time as the Man of Steel and keeping his fingers crossed for a bright future as the iconic hero. Gadot's video seems to likely be an unintentional nod to the infamous CGI from Warner Bos.' latest DC Extended Universe movie. Still, when one of the biggest DCEU actors covers up a fake mustache, it's tough to not immediately think about Superman's phantom mustache during some of the blockbuster movie's scenes.
This is yet another reminder of the changes that Justice League underwent after director Zack Snyder's departure. Some fans are still hoping to one day see his version of the film -- colloquially known online as "the Snyder cut" -- especially since Snyder recently made it clear that he seemingly has not seen the theatrical version of the film, by stating he didn't know about the subplot involving the Russian family near Steppenwolf's base.
Gal Gadot will return to the DC Universe in Wonder Woman 2, directed by Patty Jenkins and slated to hit theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
