Maroon 5 has debuted a music video for the remixed single "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, and it's a cameo-packed whirlwind of prominent women. Among the many dancing ladies popping up behind a singing Adam Levine is Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot. And she's got moves.
The song, off of Maroon 5's 2017 album Red Pill Blues, is in the vein of the band's usual pop fare, although the video certainly elevates the cuteness of the song by showcasing that "a girl like you" covers the gamut of diverse and empowered women. Among the other women who appear in the video are Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, comedian Sarah Silverman, tech entrepreneur Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, actress Tiffany Hadish, actress Millie Bobby Brown and TV host Ellen DeGeneres.
Of course, Gadot has plenty of experience dancing and singing. You may recall the video of her dancing and singing as a mermaid in an Israeli Hanuka TV special, not to mention her proclivity to break out into dance while on set or in her Instagram posts.
The video is a great spotlight for just a few of the many women who've been shaking up their respective industries. And it doesn't hurt to help bandage some of the bad PR Maroon 5 fell into after unintentionally naming an album after a men's rights group.
Gadot will return to the DC Extended Universe in director Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 2, which arrives in theaters Nov. 1, 2019.
