American Gods creator and co-showrunner Neil Gaiman has seen the first trailer for the Starz adaptation's second season and promises the new season will be just as wonderfully weird.

Gaiman, who wrote the original 2001 novel which the television series is based off of, praised the upcoming trailer on Twitter yesterday teasing that it would be "Exciting, strange, sexy" as the series' main character Shadow Moon delves deeper into the strange polytheistic pantheon of American deities, both ancient and modern.

In the interim, original series creators and showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green had left the production with Gaiman and producer Jesse Alexander replacing them.

Gaiman had previously hinted that the upcoming season would be "darker" and "more dangerous" than the first upon its return.
