Almost six years after it shut down, popular nerd culture and video game channel G4 will be making a comeback next year. The announcement came with a teaser that's sure to get fans hyped for its return.

The video begins in a warehouse filled with crates that feature words on them like "Zombie weapons" and "Wonder Twins tights," all Easter eggs tied to the channel. The teaser then shows a TV playing Pong, which is interrupted by a new transmission, and the viewer is sucked into the TV, coming face to face with the G4 logo. The teaser ends with the year 2021 appearing, followed by a tagline that reads, "We never stopped playing."

Launched on April 24, 2002, G4 -- briefly renamed G4techTV, from 2004 to 2005 -- was a popular channel mostly aimed at young male adult audiences with an initial focus on video games. Among its programming, G4 harbored both original series like Attack of the Show! and X-Play and syndicated shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation and Cops. The channel would eventually stop operations on November 30, 2014, ultimately shutting down on December 31 of that year.

It is currently unknown when in 2021 that G4 will return to the airwaves, nor what programming the revived channel will feature.
