Adrianne Palicki, star of the rejected Wonder Woman television pilot, will play Lady Jaye in Paramount Pictures' sequel G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes, Deadline reports.

The Friday Night Lights alum joins a rapidly expanding cast that includes returning star Channing Tatum, and new additions Dwayne Johnson as Roadblock, RZA as Blind Master and Elodie Yung as Jinx. Ray Park and Byung Hun-lee are expected to reprise their roles as Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in the Jon Chu-directed film.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told MTV earlier this week that Roadblock and Sanke Eyes will be front and center in the sequel, which will be heavy on the ninja action. "The ninja fans are going to love it," he said. "There's a tremendous amount of it. What's interesting is, we both have that going on in the Snake Eyes story, but we've found a way to bring that element into the Joes' story. I think anybody who's a fan of dark, in the middle of the night [action with] a dangerous foe arriving, this is a movie for you."

However, Deadline suggests the big question has nothing to do with ninjas, but rather who will be playing the original G.I. Joe, Joe Colton. While Bruce Willis is apparently the top choice, the studio is said to be eyeing several actors.

Introduced in the 1980s animated series, Lady Jaye is the team's covert-operations specialist and an accomplished actress and linguist with a knack for impersonation.
