FX on Hulu released a new teaser for the upcoming adaptation of Y: The Last Man.

Set to the tune of James Brown's "It's A Man's Man's Man's World," the teaser explains how, "In one day, half of our world was gone." This resulted in 95% of airline pilots, 92% of fortune CEOs and 85% of government officials all disappearing. "They were all gone," the voiceover continues. "All except one."

Y: The Last Man is an adaptation of the DC/Vertigo Comics series from Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra that ran from 2002-2008. The story takes place in a world where a cataclysmic event has killed every male mammal on the planet except for a human, Yorick Brown, and his faithful companion capuchin monkey, Ampersand. As Yorick undergoes a dangerous odyssey to find out why he's the lone survivor, the remaining women of Earth seek to rebuild society following the death of half its population.

The Y: The Last Man TV series has been in development since 2015, with FX giving the project a pilot order three years later. In 2019, original showrunners Michael Green and Aida Mshaka Croal exited and were replaced by Eliza Clark. Similarly, Barry Keoghan, who was cast as Yorick in 2018, departed in 2020 before being swiftly replaced by Ben Schnetzer.
