FX has expanded the second season of Legion with the addition of an 11th episode.
The season will now end on June 12 with "Chapter 19," written by series creator Noah Hawley and directed by Keith Gordon (Fargo, Homeland). The announcement arrives ahead of tonight's episode, "Chapter 13," with brings the season to the midway point, in which "an uneasy reunion leads to a shocking truth."
Based on the Marvel Comics character created by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, Legion stars Dan Stevens as David Haller, a man who believe himself to be schizophrenic, only to learn he may be the most powerful mutant that world has ever seen. The son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier, David spent much of his adult life moving from one psychiatric hospital to the next, never realizing his mind has been infected since childhood by the parasitic mutant Amahl Farouk, better known as the Shadow King.
At the end of Legion's first season, David become free of the Shadow King, only for the entity to take control of Oliver Bird (Jemaine Clement) and set out into the world to be reunited with his physical form, hidden from him years ago by David's father.
Airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX, Legion stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Bill Irwin, Amber Midthunder, Jeremie Harris, Aubrey Plaza, Jemaine Clement, Hamish Linklater and Navid Negahban.
