A new Wonder Woman is set to make her debut in Future State: Wonder Woman #1 by writer/artist Joëlle Jones. Yara Flor is originally from Brazil, but has a secret connection to the Amazons. With Diana missing, Yara adopts the Wonder Woman mantle in Future State to forge her own path as a superhero.
DC has released a preview of Jones' Future State: Wonder Woman #1, which introduces Yara Flor to readers as she slays a giant serpent deep in the Amazon rainforest. Along with starring in Future State: Wonder Woman, Yara Flor will also appear in the pages of Future State: Justice League by writer Joshua Williamson and artists Robson Rocha and Daniel Henriques, and Future State: Superman/Wonder Woman by writer Dan Watters and artist Leila Del Duca. Future State: Justice League has DC's future legacy heroes together on a team where their identities are a secret to each other, and Future State: Superman/Wonder Woman teams Yara Flor with Jonathan Kent.
Yara Flor is one of the first DC heroes to get their own post-Future State series, titled Wonder Girl. The CW is also developing a Wonder Girl television series, which is described as "a Latina Dreamer who was born of an Amazonian Warrior and a Brazilian River God, learns that she is Wonder Girl, and with her newfound power must fight the evil forces that would seek to destroy the world."
