The cast of Futurama said they would reunite for a reboot of the popular animated series.

"Sure, we all talk about it. If Fox was to come up with the right offer, but I know Matt [Groening] would love to do it again," voice performer Maurice LaMarche told SyFy Wire in a new interview. "[Co-creator] David Cohen, I think, might be into it. I think semi-retirement is finally wearing on him [laughs]. He had to get back to writing on The Simpsons just to keep busy."

LaMarche went on to reveal that "everybody’s into it, including the cast." He continued, "It would be great to do it before Billy West [voice of Fry, Dr. Zoidberg, and Professor Farnsworth] turns 80. So hopefully someday there’ll be a Futurama reboot, but we’re well-practiced at the reboot thing. We got rebooted twice, so there might be less of a huzzah about it, but it’d be nice to do that again."

LaMarche voiced a number of regular and recurring characters on Futurama, including Kif Kroker, Hedonismbot, Morbo, Dr. Perceptron and Lrrr. In addition to his work on Futurama, LaMarche has voiced characters on The Simpsons and voiced the character of Brain in The Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain.

Futurama debuted in March 1999 and  followed an pizza-delivery driver named Fry who is accidentally frozen and wakes up 1,000 years in the future. The series ran for four seasons and nearly 200 episodes before it was canceled by Fox in 2003. The show found a second life in re-runs on Adult Swim, and a slew of direct-to-video features started to roll out in 2007. Futurama was brought back in 2010 for an additional four seasons on Comedy Central.

In other Futurama-related news, John DiMaggio -- who voiced Bender -- revealed back in October that his favorite moment in the series occurred in Season 2, Episode 7 ("A Head in the Polls"). "There's a scene early on the series when Bender and Fry are walking up along the side of a building a la Batman 66 outside on a rope and Bender goes, 'Hey, get a room you two!'" DiMaggio recalled at the time. "And the guy inside goes, 'We're in a room!' And Bender goes, 'Well, lose some weight!' It's one of my favorite, early-on insults from Bender. He's the best!"

While Futurama's series finale aired in 2013, characters from the show appeared on a crossover with The Simpsons in 2014. The show's voice cast also included Billy West, Katey Sagal, Tress MacNeille, Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom, David Herman and Frank Welker.
