'Furious 7' Speeds Past $1 Billion

"Furious 7" has raced past $1.152 billion in 19 days of release, becoming the seventh highest-grossing film of all time, between "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" and "Iron Man 3." It's also Universal Pictures' top earner.

Starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Paul Walker, the action sequel is also blowing away the competition in China, raking in $70 million on opening day before going on to collect $250 million in just eight days. "Furious 7" could very will set a new record for a Hollywood release in China, dethroning "Transformers: Age of Extinction," which last year grossed $320 million.

"Furious 7" opened in Japan over the weekend -- its last international stop -- to $6 million, behind "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F.'"
