The Stars Wars prequels may have been controversial in quality, but one thing that fans agree on is their ability to make others laugh. Whether unintentional or deliberate, many of the lines exchanged between characters have inspired hilarious memes that receive thousands of upvotes on a daily basis.

A popular choice is from the climax of Obi-Wan's fight against Anakin Skywalker. After safely landing on the shore, Kenobi warns his former student not to follow him. The intrepid young villain ignores the threat, citing that the Jedi had underestimated his power — with brutal and long-lasting consequences. By commemorating this historic moment through memes, we can make light of the trilogy's darkest moment.

10 Illusions

Illusions meme

In this image, Obi-Wan and Anakin confront each other over a seemingly lopsided platform. It is slanted to make him believe that he has the high ground over his opponent, resulting in his iconic line.

However, the image is an optical illusion intended to deceive its viewer through the slant of the stairs. In reality, they are on even footing — hence the shock that Obi-Wan conveys in the final panel of the meme. This adds levity to their encounter, especially with how humorous the situation might have been if it were canon.

9 It's Over, Scoob!

This meme takes many of the components of its original, modifying them to add hilarity. Anakin and Obi-Wan have been exchanged for Shaggy and Scooby respectively, assuming the positions of their counterparts and altering their dialogue to match their characters.

It is especially amusing with the context of the Shaggy meme. The internet has boasted the slacking mystery solver's strength level to be enormous, one which rivals fiction's greatest characters. As a result, the line about underestimating power is appropriate, particularly to those familiar with Shaggy's other series of memes.

8 Get A Room

Get A Room meme

This meme parodies Tommy Wiseau's infamous film, The Room. One of its most memorable lines of dialogue was when its protagonist greeted his friend, Mark, after losing himself to his passions. The juxtaposition between emotions was so disorienting that it left many viewers bewildered and amused.

Here, Tommy misinterprets Obi-Wan warning him about the high ground as a different person, true to his aloof nature. Captioned below references another of his well-known lines, "You're tearing me apart, Lisa!" — much like how Kenobi butchered Anakin's body.

7 Line?

 Line? meme

The prequel trilogy has spawned so many memes from the movies' lines of dialogue (and even episodes of the Clone Wars) that almost every sentence can be spun into a parody. It is a fact that the maker of the aforementioned meme capitalized on, jumbling the dialogue of Kenobi and Skywalker for a hilarious (and unintelligible) exchange.

Anakin's first line references his match against Count Dooku, where he had informed the Sith of his growing power. Obi-Wan's calls back to Palpatine's revelation before Mace Windu after being exposed as the lord of the dark side.

6 A Climatic Betrayal

A Climatic Betrayal meme

This meme is well written because its first two panels are actually canon lines. It occurs during the Battle for Geonosis, where Count Dooku had captured the Jedi and was preparing to execute them before Mace Windu's clone trooper forces had intervened.

Considering that the bottom half of the text were also lines from the prequel trilogy (derived from the climax of Kenobi's duel with Anakin and its beginning, respectively), it makes for an amusing albeit mildly befuddling joke.

5 Stopping A Raid

Stopping A Raid meme

In this image, Kenobi and Skywalker prepare for the climax of their battle with their familiar lines. However, it is interrupted in the final panel by Obi-Wan's ad, one introducing Raid: Shadow Legends — likely to Anakin's fury and vexation.

The game is a sponsor among popular YouTubers, particularly prominent to those who risk (or have suffered through) demonetization. Obi-Wan's promotion of his "channel" creates a comically rich alternative iteration to the character, one which renders him a vapid internet personality more obsessed with fame and fortune than saving the Republic or his fallen student. Should such a proclivity have been canon, it would have certainly made the prequels more entertaining.

4 The Magic Touch

The Magic Touch meme

Anime fans may be familiar with the reference Anakin makes in the bottom panel. "Omae wa mou shindeiru" translates into "You're already dead" — a line that the Fist Of The North Star's protagonist, Kenshiro, would utter to his opponents moments before their heads exploded.

Considering the delay between when he strikes their pressure points and after they blow up, the joke insinuates that Anakin had already inflicted damage to his master before he leaped onto the shore. This would have made following him completely unnecessary.

3 Spitting Facts

Spitting Facts meme

The dialogue between Obi-Wan and Anakin is poetic if one considers the context surrounding it. In The Phantom Menace, Kenobi had dispatched Darth Maul despite having significantly worse footing than Skywalker did during their Mustafar duel (as he dangled precariously off a massive pit).

In this meme, Anakin calls attention to that fact, one which his Jedi counterpart is forced to begrudgingly acknowledge. It presents a fallacy in Obi-Wan's logic that he should understand better than anyone, especially regarding how consumed he was with rage at the time.

2 The Lava Ground

The Lava Ground meme

The prequels have had many practical inconsistencies, as exemplified through the dialogue of this meme. After Obi-Wan brags of his superior footing, Anakin jests that "if only he could force lift lava." Realistically, a decision as intelligent and thoughtful as the one proposed may have swung the battle in his favor.

It was not the first time fans had suggested this solution to the challenge Kenobi posited. The popular animated series, "How It Should Have Ended," also brought this fact to light, having Anakin hurl puddles of lava in Obi-Wan's direction and vehemently chanting, "From my point of view, you have the lava ground."

1 Crews'ing For A Bruising

Crews'ing For A Bruising meme

Terry Crews was a beloved actor who was prominently affiliated with the Old Spices brand of commercials. In order to illustrate their potency, he would burst through walls, cause spontaneous explosions, or sometimes destroy his own brain to prove the efficiency of his product. Whenever doing so, he would always shout, "POOOOOWER!"

This meme spoofs his dialogue, maintaining most of Anakin's original line but replacing the last word with Crews' phrasing. It creates a hilarious image, one that pays homage to Old Spice's most popular series of advertisements.
