"Kiss, kiss fall in love!" These are the well-known intro lyrics that get everyone excited for an episode of "Ouran High School Host Club!" This shoujo anime is based on the manga by Bisco Hatori. For those who aren't familiar with "Ouran High School Host Club," it's about Haruhi Fujioka who attends a school for rich kids based on a scholarship. She ends up getting involved with its Host Club, which is a club of boys who entertain the school's female students. After she accidentally destroys the club's valuable vase, she must work off the debt by being their errand boy. The only thing is that Haruhi is a girl.
This anime aired in 2006 and only has one season so far. It's filled with zany moments, hilarious jokes, and wacky character facial expressions, while also addressing some serious issues. Even though there are a few serious moments in this anime, there are plenty of hilarious moments that will put you in stitches from laughing.
10 TAMAKI'S REACTION WHEN HARUHI KISSES THE PRINCESS - EP. 2
Near the end of episode 2, things are resolved between Princess Kanoko Kasugazaki and Toru. Kanoko is through with "host-hopping," and she and Toru have rekindled their love for one another. During the dance, the twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, announced Kanoko as "Queen of the Ball." As a reward, she gets a kiss on the cheek from Haruhi instead of Tamaki.
When Haruhi is persuaded into doing it, Tamaki runs to stop it from happening and ends up slipping on a banana peel, and pushes Haruhi into Kanoko. This causes the two to kiss on the lips. Tamaki's volcanic reaction is priceless. His face immediately changes to blood red as the twins in the background snicker.
9 TAMAKI IS THE LAST TO REALIZE HARUHI IS A GIRL - EP. 1
In this episode, Haruhi comes off as a boy to everyone she first meets. It isn't until a certain incident or situation occurring with her and a member of the club that causes the said member to realize that the person they thought was a he is actually a she. Tamaki is the last out of the group to realize Haruhi is biologically a female.
He finally figures it out when he walks in on her changing. His reaction is hilarious. He turns red and he becomes speechless. The face he makes the scene.
8 "OTAKU!" - EP. 4
In this episode, Renge Housshakuji leaves her home in Paris to find Kyoya. Kyoya looks exactly like the main character in the dating video game she is obsessed with. After she meets everyone, she explains why she is at their school, and that's when Tomaki and the twins yell out "otaku.''
One of the twins even say that he has never met one before. Otaku is a Japanese word that means someone who is obsessed with an interest. This scene is funny because it shows how passionately obsessed Renge is with her dating game, and the boys' reactions are priceless.
7 POINTING OUT THAT THIS IS AN ANIME - EP. 3
When it's time for the students to have their physicals, the Host Club realizes that Haruhi will be found at that she is really a girl. Tamaki daydreams of a happy ending by Haruhi putting on a dress and confessing her love to him. Hikaru says to Honey senpai that the way he is daydreaming is creeping him out.
Tamaki snaps out of it and tells all of the boys that "this anime is obviously a romantic school comedy" with him and Haruhi as the main love interests. He also tells the others that they are the homosexual supporting cast.
6 KYOYA GETS MAD - EP. 24
In this episode, you get to witness the calm and cool Kyoya blow a fuse! This episode is about how Kyoya and Tamaki first meet. Kyoya is going through a lot in order to stand out from his brothers and make his father proud. When Tamaki becomes the new student, Kyoya's father asks Kyoya to befriend him because of Tamaki's family background.
Tamaki annoys Kyoya by begging him to show him around and do what he wants. Kyoya immediately becomes frustrated. The incredibly funny scene in this episode is when Kyoya is at home with his sister and expresses his anger to her. It's hilarious seeing a character who is usually calm, go from 0 to 100.
5 THE TWINS FIGHT: "YOUR MOMMA WEARS TOO MUCH MAKEUP" - EP. 5
The Hitachiin twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, are incredibly close to each other. There isn't one without the other. The scene when Haruhi distinguished the two from each other (which is hard for the other characters in the anime to do) shocks the twins. The comment she made about how she tells them apart causes the two to fight. Later in the episode, they reveal that the fight wasn't real and that they did it out of boredom.
In the scene where they are fake arguing and insulting each other right after Hauri called Hikaru more mischievous, causing Kaoru to laugh, the two at the same yelled at each other "Your momma wears too much makeup."
4 THE FUNNY FOOD FIGHT MOMENT - EP. 5
Episode 5 is definitely packed with many funny moments. In here, the twins are still pretending to hate each other. They fight for Haruhi's attention at the lunch table and Kaoru tries to feed Haruhi some of his food. Instead of his spoon going into her mouth, Hikaru puts it in his and tells Kaoru to leave.
Next, Kaoru picks up a pie and throws it at Hikaru. Hikaru uses Tamaki to block the pie from hitting him. He grabs Tamaki's tie to pull him in front of him, and the pie goes right onto his face. Tamaki's face and his reaction is priceless after that.
3 THE CLASS REP. IS A FRAIDY CAT - EP. 21
Episode 21 is the Halloween episode. The students of Ouran Academy decided to have a test-of-courage tournament for their event after their exams. The only one against it is the class representative because of his fear of the dark. Thanks to the Hitachiin twins being involved to play into his fear, you're able to see funny reactions from the fraidy-cat class rep.
The scene during this episode that you must rewatch over and over again is when the class rep. is confessing his fear of the dark to Haruhi. He asks Haruhi to not tell the twins, and as soon as he does so, they suddenly appear. Very creepily, Hikaru and Kaoru ask him "Is someone a fraidy cat?." For a few seconds there is complete silence, and then suddenly the class rep. jumps up while screaming, and tries to escape through a window near them.
2 A KISS FOR THE SAKE OF REVENGE - EP. 19
Every episode in "Ouran High School Host Club" has many zany and outrageous moments, but this episode could be considered as the most overly dramatic, but in a hilarious way of course. While Benibara, the president of the Zuka Club at Lobelia Girls' Academy, tries to kiss Haruhi during the play as revenge against Tomaki and the Host Club, the Host Club rushes up to the stage to prevent the kiss from happening.
This scene is incredibly funny because of the way Tomaki is drawn running to Haruhi. To make it even more comical, out of nowhere the monkey that appeared on the screen on stage turns out to be a real monkey and throws a banana peel on the floor.
1 THE TWINS TORMENTING TAMAKI IN ALMOST EVERY EPISODE
The funniest moment in "Ouran High School Host Club" happens in almost every episode The funniest moment is when the twins, Hikaru and Kaoru, torment Tamaki by flirting or doing something that may come off as sexual to Haruhi.
Tamaki's reaction when they do this is the funniest thing to watch. The time Karou licked cookie crumbs of Haruhi's cheek, and the time the twins made sure that Tomaki knew that she had the same class as they, are a couple of examples that you see in the anime. Tomaki usually reacts by blowing up, crying, calling the twins perverts, and hilariously begging Haruhi to not go anywhere with two.
