Bob Belcher, like many dads, thinks he is significantly funnier than he actually is — especially when it comes to puns. And, of course, he has to incorporate his passion for cooking with his "best" puns, and thus "The Burger of the Day" was born, carrying some of Bob's best material.

"The Burger of the Day" board is seen in nearly every episode of Bob's Burgers. Even though it may not be a central fixture, it still gives fans a chuckle every time they see it. Of course, some puns weren't nearly as great as others, but some really hit it out of the park with pop-culture references or pure punny goodness mixed with culinary genius.

10 Beets Of Burden Burger Could Be A Good Ride

Season 5, Episode 8 "Midday Run"

Beets Of Burden Burger

Anyone who has worked in the restaurant business knows that having waste is something every restaurant wants to avoid. If an ingredient is reaching its expiration date, it will get used in anything, or have its price reduced in order to use as much as possible.

This was likely what drove Bob to his decision for this Burger of the Day. It was the "Beets of Burden" Burger, which was served with "too many beets." It looks like Bob had a surplus of beets and instead of wasting them, he was giving them out to customers.

9 Open Sesame Burger Is Simple Yet Delicious

Season 3, Episode 7 "Tina-rannosaurus Wrecks"

Open Sesame Burger

It would be difficult to pass up on one of the easiest puns out there, so Bob made sure not to with this one. In season 3, episode 7, Bob's Burger of the Day was the "Open Sesame Burger." Of course, the burger is served on a sesame bun.

The burger plays on the magical phrase from "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves," which opened a secret cave hiding treasures. Other than being served on a sesame bun, the burger is also served open-faced to really seal in the joke.

8 The Foot Feta-ish Burger Isn't For Everyone

Season 1, Episode 2 "Crawl Space"

Foot Fetaish Burger

A real winner of a name was given to the second-ever seen Burger of the Day, courtesy of Louise Belcher. Being the most mischievous of Bob and Linda's children, it was no surprise that Louise changed the name of the "Never Been Feta" Burger to something a bit funnier.

The newly dubbed "Foot Feta-ish" Burger still displayed the star ingredient of Bob's burger but showed exactly what kind of comedy to expect from the show. Being such an early burger it let viewers see what to expect from the series — and especially from Louise.

7 Fifth Day of Christmas Burger Is What Your True Love Will Give You

Season 3, Episode 9 "God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins"

Fifth Day Of Christmas Burger

Bob's "Fifth Day of Christmas Burger" was served with five golden rings — onion rings, that is — and a perfect burger to eat during the holidays. This Burger of the Day is easy to look over during the events of "God Rest Ye Merry Genttle-Mannequins" amidst the beautiful Christmas displays.

This Burger of the day from season 3 is an obvious play on the classic Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas" with the gift of the fifth day being five golden rings. This burger sounds delicious and may end up on many people's plates as Christmas inches closer.

6 Chile Relleno-You-Didn't Burger Tells It Like It Is

Season 3, Episode 17 "Two for Tina"

Chile Relleno You Didnt Burger

Bob took a spicier approach with the Chile Relleno-You-Didn't Burger. Chile relleno is a Mexican dish that consists of a green chile stuffed with meat, and sometimes other foods, that is battered and fried. The choice sounds delicious.

The Chile Relleno-You-Didn't Burger also fit well with the theme of the episode. Tina gets caught in a scandalous and heated love triangle between her crush Jimmy Jr. and her new crush, the ballet dancer, Josh. Things get a little spicy for Tina, much like diners of that day's Burger of the Day.

5 The Texas Chainsaw Massa-Curd Burger Is A Real Fright

Season 5, Episode 2 "Tina and the Real Ghost"

Texas Chainsaw Massacurd Burger

Mixing horror with food can be a bit dicey, especially with gory horror. It runs the risk of making customers lose their appetites instead of the joke landing. However, Bob took the risk with this Halloween-themed Burger of the Day, dubbing it the Texas Chainsaw Massa-Curd Burger.

Of course, the burger is a pun on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, which aren't the most appetizing. However, a mass of cheese curds is very appetizing and plenty of people would be more than willing to devour this horror burger with a little chuckle.

4 Eggers Can't Be Cheesers So Deal With What You Have

Season 3, Episode 11 "Nude Beach"

Eggers Cant Be Cheesers Burger

This Burger of the Day made its debut during a somewhat disturbing episode that saw the introduction of a nude beach to the Belcher's town. The annoying health inspector Hugo decides to take a leave of absence and the Belcher's think they hit gold with a new health inspector.

Unfortunately, they find out that the new health inspector is worse than Hugo ever was. The Burger of the Day was the "Eggers Can't Be Choosers," and that pun couldn't be more true. Beggars can't be choosers and the Belchers were stuck with Hugo.

3 The Human Polenta-pede Burger May Be In Bad Taste

Season 5, Episode 2 "Tina and the Real Ghost"

Human Polentapede Burger

Another one of Bob's Halloween-inspired Burgers of the Day, the "Human Polenta-pede" Burger is even less appetizing than the "Texas Massa-curd Burger." While the other burger at least came with delicious cheese curds, this burger with polenta doesn't sound that tasty.

While the ingredients of the burger aren't very appealing, as polenta is a cornmeal gruel, the pun is even less appealing. The burger is a spoof of The Human Centipede, which is a disgusting horror film in which a doctor sews three people together to form one digestive track for the three.

2 The Gourdon-Hamsey Burger Will Test A Chef's Skills

Season 4, Episode 5 "Turkey in a Can"

Gourdon Hamsey Burger

The Burger of the Day from season 4, episode 5 is an easy one to miss. Most of the episode doesn't take place in the restaurant, so viewers only catch glimpse of the Burger of the Day board. This Burger of the Day was named the "Gourdon-Hamsey" Burger.

The "Gourdon-Hamsey" Burger is obviously a pun of the famous British chef Gordon Ramsay. However, the joke goes deeper: the burger is served with squash and ham. There is literally a gourd on ham in this burger. Even Gordon Ramsay would chuckle at that.

1 The Cauliflower's Cumin From Inside The House Burger

Season 4, Episode 2 "Fort Night"

The Cauliflowers Cumin From Inside the House Burger

It seems that Bob really can't resist a good horror-inspired pun on Halloween. The fourth season's Halloween Burger of the Day is "The Cauliflower's Cumin From Inside the House" Burger. The burger of course comes with cauliflower and is seasoned with cumin.

The pun plays on the fact that cumin can be read as "coming" and on the classic "babysitter and the man upstairs" urban legend. In the legend, the man kills the kids while calling the babysitter from within the house. The Belchers almost experienced something similar in their cardboard fort that night.
