Funko Snatches Okoye's Wig with New Vinyl Pop! Figure

Toy collectible manufacturing company Funko has unveiled a new Pop! figure of Black Panther's Okoye with removable wig.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a place filled with fan-favorite characters. Whether a lead character like Tony Stark and Steve Rogers or a supporting character like Sam Wilson and Clint Barton, there is room for all of these characters to shine. In director Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, fans of the MCU were introduced to many new characters that would become fan-favorites: Killmonger, T'Challa, Shuri and, of course, Okoye, as played by The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira.

Okoye was a memorable character that went on to have an important role in Avengers: Infinity War. And yet, most fans would agree that the scene that made Okoye such an icon was the casino scene in Black Panther. As viewers might recall, Okoye accompanied Nakia and T'Challa on a secret mission to retrieve a missing piece of vibranium. To blend in with the crowd, Okoye wore a wig, one that she rapidly disposed of in an inventive fashion when the fighting began.

Well now, this spectacular, character-defining scene has been immortalized via Funko's popular Pop! vinyl figures. The toy collectible manufacturing company has made many Pop! figures based on the characters from the MCU movies -- but it has now outdone itself.

Earlier today, the company unveiled its wave of Marvel exclusive Pop! collectibles that will be available at New York Comic Con next month. The wave, which contains exclusives that count Spider-Woman and a Hulkbuster vs. Hulk movie moment, also features the sure-to-be-sold-out vinyl figure of Okoye in her casino dress. The best part? She comes with a wig that can be removed.

The figure will be available only at the Funko booth at NYCC. However, if you don't plan on attending the convention, there is some hope yet. The Pop! figure, like most of Funko's convention exclusives, will likely be a shared exclusive. This means that the figure will also be available at a select chain store, one that, as of this moment, has not been revealed yet. When it will be announced however, you'll have to act fast.

Okoye is expexted to return in the untitled Avengers 4. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Brie Larson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Evangeline Lilly and Josh Brolin. The film is set to hit theaters on May 3, 2019.
