Funko has unveiled a massive figure of H. P. Lovecraft's classic monster, Cthulhu.
According to the official website, the collectible is 10 inches tall and costs $30. Due to is exclusive and limited availability, each customer is only allowed to purchase two figurines. The item became available on Feb 5 at 11 a.m. PT.
Created by H. P. Lovecraft, Cthulhu made his debut in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" in Weird Tales magazine in 1928. The octopus/dragon/humanoid hybrid's name was eventually given to the "Cthulhu Mythos," a shared universe that consists of the works of Lovecraft and his protégé August Derleth.
In the story itself, Cthulhu lives in R'lyeh, an underwater city in the South Pacific. He is the source of humanity's constant anxiety and is worshiped by several religions. In Lovecraftian mythos, he is considered a "Great Old One" -- a group of powerful space deities who once ruled Earth but have since lost their power -- along with Ghatanothoa and Yig.
Since its creation, Cthulhu has appeared in various TV shows, films and video games. The Cthulhu's Witnesses are also a registered religion in the United States.
