Entertainment Earth has a new figure for fans of Groot. The upcoming figure is a Wood Deco Vinyl figure of the plant-like superhero, as he is depicted in the Guardians of the Galaxy films.
Each Pop! Groot figure, based on the Baby Groot version of the character, is made using a specialized paint technique that gives a carved-wood appearance to the tree-like Guardian of the Galaxy. This also means that each figure will have a grainy design that varies from figure to figure, making each one unique in its own way. The Groot figure stands at just 3 3/4th inches tall. The Groot Wood Deco Pop! is scheduled to go on sale this month; it is available for pre-order exclusively from Entertainment Earth's website.
Groot first appeared in Tales To Astonish #13, by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby. Though initially depicted as a monstrous figure, he would later reappear as a benevolent being during the Annihilation comic book storyline and went on to become a long-standing member of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The character has gained widespread popularity in recent years owing to his appearances throughout the highly-successful Guardians of the Galaxy films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
