Funko has revealed two new Pop! figures for its Dune line.

According to Funko, the line will feature a number of popular characters from Frank Herbert's beloved science-fiction franchise. This includes Paul Atreides, son of Duke Leto Atreides and Lady Jessica of the Bene Gesserit order. Also making an appearance is Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, nephew of the lecherous cannibal Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.

The announcement features the art of the oncoming figures. Paul Atreides stands in his water conversation suit, complete with a nasal implant to prevent the loss of excess water vapor through exhalation. His eyes are the brilliant blue of Spice users from the Dune series, rather than the Pop figures' classic black dots. He's holding what seems to be a sandworm riding harness. Feyd-Rautha's Pop! appears in a blue jumpsuit with a series of buckles down his torso. He's in a combat pose, with his dagger poised to stab.

Although these pops are based off the characters appearing in David Lynch's 1984 Dune film, a new movie is currently in the works. Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Sicario), Dune will adapt the first half of the book of the same name, which is set in the distant future and follows Paul Atreides to a barren desert planet called Arrakis (also known as Dune). Paul's father is slain by the treacherous Harkonnens as they try to gain possession of the planet, which is the only source of a narcotic substance known as "Spice." Along the way, Paul discovers that he's a messianic figure and leads the native inhabitants of Dune in armed resistance against the Harkonnen invaders.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve from a script he co-wrote with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts, Legendary Pictures' Dune stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Stephen Henderson and Josh Brolin. The first film has a scheduled release date of Dec. 18, 2020.
