It sounds like there might be some exciting news coming up for Funko Pop fans and collectors.In an interview on TD Ameritrade Network, Funko CEO Brian Mariotti hinted that the company might release some big news soon. When asked if Funko had considered getting into the world of TV or movies, he responded, “I think we might have an announcement shortly in that area. I can’t give you any details but I think we’re on the same wavelength there, and I think that, you know, very soon we’ll probably be having an announcement.â€
Mariotti went on to say the news is expected to be made public within the next 30 days.
In addition, Mariotti tweeted the link to the interview, saying, “Thanks again for having me, @OJRenick. I'm looking forward to sharing more about our plans for original content soon.â€
Near the end of the interview, Mariotti added, “We have a couple licensors coming to us to license our IP, that we’ll be making announcements on that very shortly as well. “
