The Shonen action anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a tale of conspiracy, redemption, the folly of human arrogance, and much more. Part of what makes this series is not just its deep philosophy and symbolism, but its memorable villains. Edward Elric and the others, are up against the megalomaniacal Father, a homunculus with seven more homunculi as his minions, each representing the Seven Deadly Sins. Not just that, but villainous rogues and alchemists populate the franchise as well. Some become friends and allies, but others certainly don't!

Two of the most prominent villains, aside from Father, are Wrath and the alchemist known as Solf J. Kimblee. Both of them get a lot of screen time and dominate any scene they're in, and the good guys are hard-pressed to deal with monsters like them. Yet, which of them may be considered the ultimate villain, and why?

10 Wrath: Body Count

Yes, both Wrath and Kimblee are deadly warriors, but, on screen, Wrath claims more victims, and that makes him even scarier. The good guys get off lightly if they lose only an arm to him, as Lan Fan did. Meanwhile, Wrath badly injured Captain Buccaneer, who soon died of his many injuries. In the same battle, Wrath also killed prince Ling's top bodyguard, Fu! Don't forget all of Greed's allies, who died by Wrath's hand. With so many fatalities, Wrath sends a shiver down anyone's spine!

9 Kimblee: Total Cruelty

The Ishval Civil War was a bloody and nightmarish affair, and many soldiers and alchemists were distraught as they carried out their genocidal orders. However, one alchemist reveled in it: Solf J. Kimblee! He loves the sound of explosions and murder, and slaughtering Ishvalans and blowing up their homes was a vacation for him. He also turned on his chimera allies later when they failed him, and he's totally comfortable fighting alongside the likes of Pride. Kimblee has an ice-cold soul worthy of a homunculus, and his humanity is a distant memory.

8 Wrath: He's The King

Wrath doesn't just swagger around like a boss; he really is one! He is known as King Bradley, the supreme leader of all of Amestris. In this high office, he can control the entire nation at will, and no resources are off-limits to him.

During the climactic battle for Central City, the defenders had nearly lost... until King Bradley announced his return, and the defenders' spirits soared! No other villain could inspire so many soldiers like that, and everyone snapped to a salute as Wrath passed them by.

7 Kimblee: Tracking Skills

Wrath may have the Ultimate Eye, but no one can escape from Kimblee, either. This smart man is a skilled tracker, and he can easily read a map, study the local terrain, and figure out train routes to hunt down just about anybody. Kimblee was asked to find and eliminate Scar while retrieving Dr. Marcoh, and Kimblee had no trouble catching right up to Scar's rogue party.

Not even alchemy landslides or train-switching tricks could throw Kimblee off their trail! Kimblee continued his pursuit into an old mining town up north, and Ed and the others only barely got away.

6 Wrath: Cool Fights

Both Kimblee and Wrath get some cool action scenes, but Wrath's are top of the line. He unleashed deadly and surprising sword skills in the Dublith Sewers, easily wiping out Greed's minions and pushing Greed to the limit.

Even in a short duel, Wrath is a proper acrobat in combat, being quick, creative, and deadly. Sabers are his favorite weapons, but he can make use of knives, hand grenades, and some melee attacks, too. His movements are thanks to years of hard practice and the Ultimate Eye, and his regeneration keeps him in the fight for a long time.

5 Kimblee: Badass Squad

Kimblee is a mortal man, unlike Wrath, and he's not too proud to turn away some help. Kimblee's hunt for Scar and Dr. Marcoh is aided by Envy and any military personnel Kimblee meets, and by using all these people, Kimblee can formulate a plan in no time. He also recruited some chimeras to aid him, and they made it easy to track down Ed in that northern mining town. Kimblee shows restraint, though, and refrains from attacking military personnel who displease him. He's deceptively cool and professional in their presence, making him all the more chilling.

4 Wrath: Tough Attitude

Both Wrath and Kimblee are confident men, but Wrath's will of iron is truly inspirational (and terrifying). He is the embodiment of anger, but not in a reckless or showy way. Rather, Wrath represents cold, calculated hate and malice, and his mind is a forged weapon of steel just like his swords are.

He also gets some arrogance from his homunculus status, and he ruthlessly looks down on anyone he deems inferior. He even scolded Greed for relying on minions, and, in his final moments, he spited Lan Fan, who was disgusted by his entire being. A warrior to the last!

3 Kimblee: What A Blast!

Kimblee is capable of conventional alchemy like anyone else, but, when he puts those palms together, he's probably going to blow something up! He did this nonstop in Ishval, and when he stole a Philosopher's Stone, he blew up the officers who tried to subdue him.

In the series, Kimblee uses these blasts to subdue his foes, and he nearly killed Ed when he created an explosion and sent Ed plummeting down a mine shaft. He also blasted open a hole to free Pride from a conical earth prison that Hohenheim had made, and his explosions (combined with Wrath's power) proved viciously effective against Alphonse and Heinkel the chimera.

2 Wrath: Origin Story

Who doesn't love a good origin story? Unlike the homunculi, Wrath was born a mortal man, one of many candidates being groomed to become Wrath. He proved to be the top of his class, and, where the Philosopher's Stone rejected many other candidates, it accepted Bradley at once.

It was agony, but Bradly awoke as the one and only Wrath, his left eye forever imprinted with the Ouroboros. It adds an odd sense of humanity to this total monster and shows how far the military will go to further Father's plans.

1 Kimblee: Opportunist

Kimblee does whatever it takes to win, and at this point, his selfish and chaotic nature is pretty clear. He's not an obedient soldier, and he's not beholden to anyone except for Father, who has use for him. Kimblee is a rogue, and this makes him fascinating to watch, since you never know where he will go or what he will do next.

He makes it up as he goes, and he has total operational freedom on the hunt. Kimblee took the initiative and hunted Scar and Dr. Marcoh up north, and became a one-man army as he also hunted the Elric brothers. He was also the one who freed Pride and allowed the battle against Alphonse to resume.
